Hosting "Anne" author,

Lucy Maud Montgomery, visits with Sir Andrew Macphail. "The most beautiful home on the island,"

a native islander returning from the mainland.

On a scenic hillside above the Northumberland Strait the gracious estate is a short carriage ride to the Macphail homestead where the McGill University founder organized soirées with island intelligencia.

Today you can enjoy the same dining room garden views as Anne-author, Montgomery, except that the lindens now are century trees towering far above the three story gables.

BREAKFAST Service on hiatus 2018

Full hot gourmet breakfasts are served with European style seating in the home’s formal dining room between 8 and 10 a.m. Local friends, family and visitors are welcome to join inn guests, table d'hôte prix fixe, $25 per person includes all taxes, does not include gratuities, by reservation. 20% gratuity added for groups.

The elegant original construction provides dramatic beauty. The heritage home has been lovingly preserved in its essentially original state. Architecturally, the home is a Queen Anne Victorian in an eclectic style. The home has a double Dutch gambrel roof, large twin chimneys, massive exterior moldings, curved plaster walls, inglenook and window seats, butler's pantry, main and secondary staircases, Palladian windows, five original fireplaces with European mantles, and is set on manicured private grounds edged with private woods, trails and views.

It is a privilege sharing this exquisite property with you. Our goal is simple, genuine hospitality to exceed your expectations.

We are located in the central southeastern shore region, considered by many to be the island's most beautiful region retaining the qualities poetically described by "Anne."

Nearby provincial capital, Charlottetown, is a 20 minute shoreline drive.
